Getting Started
What is WeDemo Africa?
WeDemo Africa is a hybrid AI + human career system for African freelancers. Our model is sequenced: mindset update first, then skills and career capital, then monetization through partner marketplaces and income systems.
Is WeDemo Africa free to use?
Yes! The Free plan gives you full access to all career roadmaps, community access, basic resources, and progress tracking — forever. No credit card required. Premium features like 1:1 mentorship and certification exams require a paid plan.
Who is WeDemo Africa for?
Anyone in Africa (or the African diaspora) who wants to build a structured digital career. Whether you're a student, recent graduate, career changer, or experienced professional looking to go freelance — WeDemo has a path for you.
Roadmaps
What are the WeDemo Africa roadmaps?
Roadmaps are Stage 2 of our model: step-by-step execution guides built for African freelancers. They turn mindset shift into practical career capital with tools, projects, and measurable outputs.
Do I need technical skills to use WeDemo Africa?
Not at all. We have non-technical tracks (Sales & Marketing, Virtual Assistant, Affiliate Marketing) designed for people who want to earn online without writing code. Technical tracks (Frontend Dev, AI Mastery, etc.) are optional paths.
How long do the roadmaps take?
It depends on the track. Digital Foundations takes 4-6 weeks. VA track is 6-10 weeks. Frontend Development is 6-12 months. AI Mastery is 3-5 months. You set your own pace.
Certification
What is the WeDemo Africa Certification?
A structured, credible certification proving your digital skills, communication ability, and freelancing readiness. It has 3 levels: Foundations (Level 1), Professional (Level 2), and Mastery/WA-CAIP (Level 3). Each certificate comes with a verifiable badge.
How do I get certified?
Complete the relevant roadmap, submit portfolio projects, and pass the certification exam. Premium members get exam access included. Level 1 is achievable within 2 months for dedicated learners.
Do employers and clients trust WeDemo certifications?
Yes. Our certificates are verifiable via a unique ID. Certified freelancers on GigsHub command significantly higher rates. We're continuously building partnerships with companies that recognize WeDemo credentials.
Campus & youth
Is WeDemo for children?
No. Direct programmes are for young adults, typically 18–29 (university students and early-career youth). Children under 18 are not a primary user group. Any benefit to children is indirect — for example through household income when a young adult earns more safely.
How do campus chapters work?
Campus is how WeDemo shows up at universities — chapters, advocates, and ambassadors. Express interest, join a chapter, then apply for a role if you want to lead. See the Campus Program and the Youth Safeguarding Policy.
Where can I see impact numbers?
The public Impact Snapshot at /impact shows live counts from our database (users, chapters, enrollments, certifications, Agency Education passes). Case studies are published only with written consent.
Gigs Hub
How does Gigs Hub work?
GigsHub is Stage 3 (monetization) in our model. After mindset update and skills execution, members use portfolio evidence and certification signals to compete for vetted opportunities.
Why does WeDemo start with mindset update before skills?
Durable career change begins with human agency: the capacity to act intentionally. Bandura's self-efficacy, Dweck's growth mindset, and Newport's career capital explain why we start with Agency Education (The Urban Dreamer) — restoring the belief that effort can change outcomes — then move to skills and monetization. Brief, targeted belief-updating first (Walton & Wilson); deliberate skill-building second.
What research influences WeDemo's theoretical foundations?
WeDemo's theoretical foundations centre on human agency, grounded in Bandura (self-efficacy), Dweck & Yeager (growth mindset), Newport (career capital), and Walton & Wilson (wise interventions). The Urban Dreamer supplies the African-urban diagnosis that restores agency; Newport supplies the bridge into Stage 2 skills execution. The third tier of evidence — proving this sequence at scale in our context — is ours to demonstrate.
How do I get paid for gigs?
Payment is arranged directly between you and the client through GigsHub, with support for M-Pesa, PayPal, bank transfer, and Payoneer. We're building an escrow system for added protection.
